Community Outreach Around New England

New England-Based Technology Company Donates Time and Money to Local Non-Profits

Salem, NH (January 20, 2016) 鈥� WEI is not just an award-winning New England-based聽technology company, but a business intently focused on bettering the lives of its聽employees and the surrounding community. Through WEI StepsUP, the company鈥檚聽community outreach and sustainability initiative, all employees of WEI are given time to聽help out at local non-profit organizations. Each team member is offered up to 48 hours聽of paid time per year to do volunteer work with the company鈥檚 selected charities.

The holiday season is usually filled with joy and peace, but for some families, it was also聽a time of great need. This past season, to aid struggling individuals around New聽Hampshire and Massachusetts, WEI CEOs, Belisario and Leslie Rosas, encouraged their聽team to give back to their community with Random Acts of Kindness. Each employee聽was given $50 to spend during the months of November and December on any random聽act of kindness for a stranger. From helping a struggling war veteran with his electricity聽bill to paying off the balance for a low-income child鈥檚 school lunch program, all聽employees of WEI were able to help someone in need.

The list of non-profits receiving aid from WEI is long. Activities in 2015 included聽helping out MSPCA with barn animals like horses, chickens and goats at Nevins Farm,聽assisting young people at the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Salem, sending volunteers聽to the Lazarus House Ministries鈥� Good Shepherd soup kitchen, collecting and donating聽more than 18,000 items to Salem Ends 68 Hours of Hunger, and speaking at Bellesini聽Academy鈥檚 career day and science fair.

This past holiday season, WEI is also participated in several seasonal giving聽opportunities. Employees donated time to the Lazarus House鈥檚 toy drive and store,聽organized a giving tree for 150 children and a technology drive at the Nashua Children鈥檚聽Home, and a 鈥淭oys for Tots鈥� event which delivered more than 100 gifts to local kids.

From watching films about sensitive social injustices around the world to educate their聽team to think from a global perspective, to getting outside and helping out at non-profit聽organizations, WEI鈥檚 employees are making a noticeable mark on the community聽round them.
